[GSMNL] Biblical evidence for Young Earth Creation - Post Flood Genealogy

From my previous posts we a time from Creation to the end of the flood of 1662 years +/- 5

Genesis 11:10-32 (KJB)

10  These are the generations of Shem: Shem was

an hundred years old, and begat Arphaxad two

years after the flood:

11  And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad five

hundred years, and begat sons and daughters.

12  And Arphaxad lived five and thirty years, and

begat Salah:

13  And Arphaxad lived after he begat Salah four

hundred and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

14  And Salah lived thirty years, and begat Eber:

15  And Salah lived after he begat Eber four hundred

and three years, and begat sons and daughters.

16  And Eber lived four and thirty years, and begat

Peleg:

17  And Eber lived after he begat Peleg four hundred

and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters.

18  And Peleg lived thirty years, and begat Reu:

19  And Peleg lived after he begat Reu two hundred

and nine years, and begat sons and daughters.

20  And Reu lived two and thirty years, and begat

Serug:

21  And Reu lived after he begat Serug two hundred

and seven years, and begat sons and daughters.

22  And Serug lived thirty years, and begat Nahor:

23  And Serug lived after he begat Nahor two hundred

years, and begat sons and daughters.

24  And Nahor lived nine and twenty years, and begat

Terah:

25  And Nahor lived after he begat Terah an hundred

and nineteen years, and begat sons and daughters.

26  And Terah lived seventy years, and begat Abram,

Nahor, and Haran.

27  Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat

Abram, Nahor, and Haran; and Haran begat Lot.

28  And Haran died before his father Terah in the land

of his nativity, in Ur of the Chaldees.

29  And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name

of Abram's wife was Sarai; and the name of Nahor's

wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran, the father of

Milcah, and the father of Iscah.

30  But Sarai was barren; she had no child.

31  And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son

of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law,

his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them

from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of

Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there.

32  And the days of Terah were two hundred and five

years: and Terah died in Haran.

Flood – Arphaxad:      02

Arphaxad – Salah:      35

Salah - Eber:                30

Eber  - Peleg:               34

Peleg – Reu:                30

Reu - Serug:                32

Serug – Nahor:            30

Nahor – Terah:            29

This gives us an time from the flood to Abahams father Terah of 222 year with variation in time of birth durring the year producing an uncerinty of +/- 4 years. Adding this to the earlier figure gives us a time from creation to Terah 1884 years +/- 9.

Now the 70 year from Terah to Abram, Nahor, and Haran is clearly the Terah’s age a the birth of his eldest son who seems to have been Haran. This is be cause Haran is rcorded as having had three children Lot, Milcah, and Iscah, and died befor Abram, Nahor gort married, futher more Nahor married Haran’s dauter Milcah further sugesting the Haran was the oldest.

Genesis 12:1-4 (KJB)

1  Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee

out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from

thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2  And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will

bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt

be a blessing:

3  And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse

him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families

of the earth be blessed.

4  So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken

unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was

seventy and five years old when he departed out of

Haran.

These are the next verses after the death of Terah sugesting it occurred after Terah’s death. Note that Abram leaves Haran at the age of 75 years and Terah died at 205 years old, indcating that Abram was bon when Terah was 130 which wich would be consitent with his brother Haran being the oldest born when Terah was 70. meaning that Haran was 60 when Abram was born.  In any case this gives us an aditional 205 years with an uncertinty of a year, resulting in a time from creation to the time Abram leaves Haran of 3089 years +/- 10.

Luke 3:35-36 (KJB)

35  Which was the son of Saruch, which was the son

of Ragau, which was the son of Phalec, which was

the son of Heber, which was the son of Sala,

36  Which was the son of Cainan, which was the son

of Arphaxad, which was the son of Sem, which was

the son of Noe, which was the son of Lamech,

The one gap in this genealogy is the fact that Genesis 11 omits the Cainan mentioned between Arphaxad and Salah however assuming that it also amounts to a gap in time would prbably only add a gap 30-40 years and at most possibly around 400 years but the best explantion is for Cainan’s ommision in Genesis 11 was that he died befor his son Salah was born and Salah was raised by his grandfather Arphaxad. Arphaxad was 35 when Salah was born and since most men a phyically capable of fathering a child by age 14 that meas that there is plenty of room for Cainan it have fathered Salah and then having died his son was rased by his granfather. A possible senerio could be that Cainan was born when Arphaxad 18 years old and Salah was born when Cainan was 17 and Arphaxad was 35. In any event the likely hood is that inserting Cainan would not have any affect on the time line any giving us our time from creation to the time Abram leaves Haran of 3089 years +/- 10.

[GSMNL] Biblical evidence for Young Earth Creation - The Flood

From the last part of this series we have 1561 years +/- 5 years from creation to the birth of Noah’s three sons or at least the oldest of them when Noah was 500 years old. In fact based on information in Genesis 11 we can conclude that Shem was actually born when Noah was 502 years old so the 500 years old would seem to refer to the birth of Noah’s first born son which would not have been Shem.

Genesis 7:6-11 (KJB)

6  And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood
of waters was upon the earth.

7  And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his
sons' wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters
of the flood.

8  Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and

of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,

9  There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the
male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.

10  And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters
of the flood were upon the earth.

11  In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second
month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day
were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and
the windows of heaven were opened.

These verses show that the Flood started when Noah was 600 years old so adding 100 years to our earlier figure we get 1661 years +/- 5.

Genesis 8:12-14 (KJB)

13  And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first
year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the
waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah
removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and,
behold, the face of the ground was dry.

14  And in the second month, on the seven and
twentieth day of the month, was the earth dried.

Here we see that the Flood ended when Noah was 601 years old with the Flood lasting one year. This gives us a time from Creation to the end of the flood of 1662 years +/- 5.

[GSMNL] Biblical evidence for Young Earth Creation - Pre-Flood Genealogy

Genesis 5:3-32 (KJV)

3  And Adam lived an hundred and thirty years, and begat
a son in his own likeness, after his image; and called his
name Seth:

4  And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were
eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters:

5  And all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and
thirty years: and he died.

6  And Seth lived an hundred and five years, and begat
Enos:

7  And Seth lived after he begat Enos eight hundred and
seven years, and begat sons and daughters:

8  And all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve
years: and he died.

9  And Enos lived ninety years, and begat Cainan:

10  And Enos lived after he begat Cainan eight hundred
and fifteen years, and begat sons and daughters:

11  And all the days of Enos were nine hundred and five
years: and he died.

12  And Cainan lived seventy years, and begat Mahalaleel:

13  And Cainan lived after he begat Mahalaleel eight
hundred and forty years, and begat sons and daughters:

14  And all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten
years: and he died.

15  And Mahalaleel lived sixty and five years, and begat
Jared:

16  And Mahalaleel lived after he begat Jared eight
hundred and thirty years, and begat sons and daughters:

17  And all the days of Mahalaleel were eight hundred ninety
and five years: and he died.

18  And Jared lived an hundred sixty and two years, and
he begat Enoch:

19  And Jared lived after he begat Enoch eight hundred
years, and begat sons and daughters:

20  And all the days of Jared were nine hundred sixty and
two years: and he died.

21  And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat
Methuselah:

22  And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah
three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:

23  And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and
five years:

24  And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God
took him.

25  And Methuselah lived an hundred eighty and seven years,
and begat Lamech:

26  And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven
hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:

27  And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty
and nine years: and he died.

28  And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and
begat a son:

29  And he called his name Noah, saying, This same shall
comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because
of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

30  And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety
and five years, and begat sons and daughters:

31  And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy
and seven years: and he died.

32  And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat
Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Adam              to Seth                                     130 years

Seth                 to Enos                                    105 years

Enos                to Cainan                                   90 years

Cainan             to Mahalaleel                             70 years

Mahalaleel       to Jared                                     65 years

Jared                to Enoch                                  162 years

Enoch              to Methuselah                           65 years,

Methuselah      to Lamech                               187 years

Lamech           to Noah                                   182 years

Noah               to Shem, Ham, and Japheth    500 years

This gives us a total of 1556 years from creation to Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Now given the fact that odds are that none of the sons were born on their father’s birthday; though not impossible but unlikely; so the son’s birthdays would average six months from their father’s birthday resulting in a additional time of 5 years +/- 5 years. This gives us a time from creation to Shem, Ham, and Japheth of 1561 years +/- 5 years.

At the point since Adam was created on day six of creation, meaning that we have perhapse six more days here but six day well within the magin of error of  +/- 5 years

[GSMNL] Biblical evidence for Young Earth Creation - Creation Week

Genesis 1 (KJB)
1  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2  And the earth was without form, and void; and
darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of
God moved upon the face of the waters.
3  And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4  And God saw the light, that it was good: and God
divided the light from the darkness.
5  And God called the light Day, and the darkness he
called Night. And the evening and the morning were the
first day.
6  And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of
the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7  And God made the firmament, and divided the waters
which were under the firmament from the waters which
were above the firmament: and it was so.
8  And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening
and the morning were the second day.
9  And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be
gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear:
and it was so.
10  And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering
together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it
was good.
11  And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb
yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind,
whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12  And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed
after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in
itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13  And the evening and the morning were the third day.
14  And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the
heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for
signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15  And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven
to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
16  And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule
the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the
stars also.
17  And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give
light upon the earth,
18  And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide
the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19  And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20  And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the
moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above
the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21  And God created great whales, and every living creature
that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after
their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw
that it was good.
22  And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply,
and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23  And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24  And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature
after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth
after his kind: and it was so.
25  And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and
cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the
earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
26  And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea,
and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all
the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon
the earth.
27  So God created man in his own image, in the image of
God created he him; male and female created he them.
28  And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be
fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue
it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the
fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon
the earth.
29  And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb
bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and
every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed;
to you it shall be for meat.
30  And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of
the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for
meat: and it was so.
31  And God saw every thing that he had made, and,
behold, it was very good. And the evening and the
morning were the sixth day.

First of all we have in Genesis 1:1
1. In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Here we have the origin of  the universe with God is described as creating the heaven and the earth, which means God created space and matter and He is described as doing so at the beginning of the universe. Since the time of the universe hat to of started with the universe it shows God created the time of the universe here as well.

The evidence for a Young Earth begins here the key is in the repeated formula
5b  And the evening and the morning were the first day.
8b  And the evening and the morning were the second day
13  And the evening and the morning were the third day.
19  And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
23  And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
31  And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

The repeated formula is “and the evening and the morning were the nth day.”  Not only does the number with the word day indicate a regular Earth day, but God took the extra step of adding “evening and the morning” to make it even clearer that the intent here is an ordinary Earth day.  God being smart enough to know that we would still mess such a simple message up emphasizes it by connecting the creation week to the work/ Sabbath.

Exodus 20:11 (KJB) For in six days the LORD made
heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested
the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath
day, and hallowed it.

Exodus 31:14-17 (KJB)
14  Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto
you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death:
for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be
cut off from among his people.
15  Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the
sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any
work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
16  Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath,
to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a
perpetual covenant.
17  It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever:
for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the
seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

The Six day work and sabbath are a standard week that we still run our lives by here in the 21st century some 35000 years after Moses. It is the only unit of time not based in any celestial cycle, but it is passed on the period of time God used to create the universe. At the end of this week with Adam and Eve created on day six the Earth is 7 days old.

Ancient Mars Lake Could Have Supported Life, or Could It?

The Curiosity rover team announced discovering evidence of past fresh waster in  Gale Crater. Specifically announced that the Rock called "John Kein" formed in fresh water. While the clays found in the area do indicate that the water was initially fresh, the amounts of sulfur dioxide, and hydrogen sulfide which suggest past sulfuric acid. The data indicates it was about 3% sulfuric acid which means a PH of about 0.5. What seems to have happened if that the water was was originally fresh having erupted from underground  but it late became acidic as a result of fall out from the volcanic activity. The makes is a perfect fit to the Catastrophic Model of Martian geology. It seems that the folks at  JPL are so eager to find life on Mars that any hint a possible habitable puddle of water gets them excited.

[GSMNL] Human Chromosome 2 Fusion Theory Shown Wrong

http://tinyurl.com/GSM-Chromosome2

One of the latest big arguments for the claim man evolved from a common ancestor with apes is that the human chromosome 2 is a result of an end to end fusion from two chimp chromosomes 2a and 2b. For the record they were given these labels after the theory wad proposed as a way of giving support for the fusion theory. This theory was proposed as a way to explain the fact that apes have 48 humans 23 pairs of chromosomes while apes all have 24 pairs. While this theory rests on rather weak evidence to begin with in that if the DNA sequences were originally centromere, and telomere sites they would have to be more highly degraded that predictive for possible tine span.

One major problem with this claim is the fact that such a mutation would only occur in one individual at time and if it occurred it would probably render the person infertile with rest of his species and if he were lucky to find a mate with the same fused chromosome (highly improbable) then their offspring would have trouble finding compatible mates, making its survival let alone dominance highly improbable.

To make matters worst for the theory is that there are no identified cases telomere-to-telomere fusion in mammals since every chromosome fusions documented in living mammals involves satellite DNA and telomeres have end caps called the shelterin protein complex that prevent  telomere-to-telomere fusion.

It gets even worse for the chromosome fusion do the lack of  DNA sequence similarity between humans and chimps in the area around the alleged   human chromosome 2 fusion site, including an unexplained lack of chimp DNA in the area. The alleged fusion site is surrounded by many functional genes and aleged pseudogenes not found in the ends of the ends of chimpanzee chromosomes 2A or 2B.

The final neal in the chromosome 2 fusion coffin is the fact that the alleged fusion site is actually location inside the DDX11L2 gene.  This gene has three primary exons transcribed in the direction of telomere to centromere. It serves several regulatory functions making it a highly expressed and highly complicated gene and one not found in apes.

If the human chromosome 2  were indeed a result of an end to end fusion from two chimp chromosomes 2a and 2b were would expect to find the fusion site in fairly good shape and surrounded by DNA sequences highly similar between humans and chimps but we do not. We also find a unique highly functional gene going right across the alleged fusion site. Thus this so called evidence for a human-chimpanzee common ancestor and human evolution can be considered falsified, that is has been shown to be wrong.
