Launch of the 1st Dragon Spacecraft
This is a link to a video of SpaceX’s second Falcon 9 launch and the first to put a functioning Dragon capsule into Earth orbit. The Dragon capsule orbited the earth twice before splashing down off the coast of Mexico for recovery. This was the first time that a private company had launched a capsule into orbit, brought it through reentry and recovered it. Previously this had only been accomplished by a few nations. Next SpaceX plans a test flight to the International Space station. Eventually it is hoped the Dragon will carry both cargo and crews to the ISS.
